ABOUT
The person you meet is the person building it

Why he builds
Hi, I'm Mahdi
I spent ten years in the army, including officer training at Duntroon. That part of my life set me up, which means I do not need to be doing this. I am doing it because I have wanted to build since I was a kid.
That is worth knowing about the person you are handing your house to. I am not chasing turnover and I am not chasing the next job before this one is finished. I take three to five homes a year because that is how many I can be on site for.

A few minutes with me
If you would rather hear it than read it, here I am on site, talking about how I work and what I care about. Everything in it is written on this page as well, so you do not have to watch.
The path
How I got here
Ten years in the army, including officer training at Duntroon. After the army, I followed my passion and started studying bachelor of building and construction management at the university of Canberra.
While studying, I was working with a large-scale national commercial construction company where I mastered contract administration and the business side of things. I then transitioned to working with a mixed commercial and residential firm in Canberra, where I worked as a project manager, managing an array of commercial, residential, and government projects. I fell in love with the residential work and committed to the residential world.
Aspire Construction started in 2023. I hold an ACT builder's licence, Class A, and an unrestricted New South Wales licence, so I can work in Canberra and down on the South Coast.
The army taught me to plan properly and to be where I said I would be. That has turned out to be most of the job.

What comes first
What comes first, in order
01
Safety
And I mean the safety of the people working on my sites. That is my number one, ahead of everything else. A site that is run properly for the trades is a site that is run properly full stop.
02
The standard of the work
Not a promise about it, something you can go and look at. Waterproofing is installed as a complete system, with two coats under the screed and two on top where applicable. You will never see any of them, which is the whole point.
03
That you are happy at the end
Not just on handover day. I stay available afterwards, because there is always something you notice once you have lived in a house for a month. I would rather you rang me than lived with it.

How the work gets done
My trusted trades I have used for years
It is me, and a group of subcontractors I have worked with long enough to know how they finish a job. Everything electrical, plumbing and gasfitting is done by licensed trades.
I know that sounds smaller than a builder with a marketing department. It is smaller. It is also why I am on your site instead of in a meeting about your site.
"If any builder tells you that I can achieve 100 per cent, they are lying. But if I can achieve 95 to 98, I am happy."

TESTIMONIALS
Kind words from clients and those closest to me

Come and have a look at the work
The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If you have drawings, bring them. If you have not started, that is fine too.
